FireMap Excites Conference Delegates

FireMap PC Graphics was the centrepiece of Pertronic Industries’ display at IFCEM 2015.

Delegates at the May 2015 conference in Kuala Lumpur were able to experience the Pertronic FireMap user-friendly interface for themselves. Pertronic representatives showed delegates how FireMap has enhanced many fire alarm systems.

If the alarm is triggered, FireMap automatically retrieves and displays a map of the affected location. This is a boon at complex sites such as Sydney’s “Top Ryde City Living”, a complex of seven closely-spaced apartment towers.

A FireMap installation in the 22-level Hotel Royal on Penang Island, Malaysia, provides dramatically improved information compared with the system it replaced.
Conference delegates also learned how FireMap slashed nuisance alarms at Brisbane’s Wesley Hospital. Talking to a Pertronic Representative, Wesley Hospital Fire Safety Manager Steve McCann said: “Before we replaced our old system with Pertronic panels and FireMap, we were getting about 55 nuisance alarms per year. With FireMap we have less than ten nuisance alarms per year.”
“The FireMap display attracted strong interest,” said Pertronic Industries Managing Director David Percy. “This validates our decision to provide a high level of commitment and support for the system in the Asia Pacific region
