Leadership in Times of Crisis | Commissioner Ian Stewart to Address Conference in May
With the catastrophic weather event Queensland is currently experiencing, the effects have been felt at every level and will continue to do so for some time. It is times like these where leadership is vital.
“Leadership is an integral component of effective command. Through leadership skills, effective command is the dynamic and holistic approach of a commander to direct, control and coordinate personnel and resources for the effective management of any incident.”
Commissioner Ian Stewart will address the 2017 Disaster and Emergency Management Conference, held 22 – 23 May at Jupiters Hotel, Gold Coast, QLD. The Search and Rescue Conference will follow on 24 May.
Commissioner Stewart is a career Police Officer with over 40 years of service and has been instrumental in leading the QPS through the Renewal Program and the Police and Community Safety Review, the most significant period of reform since the Fitzgerald era. The reforms introduced by Commissioner Stewart have empowered the QPS to redefine its service delivery model, and therefore better meet the needs of the community through a heightened emphasis on frontline policing.
Early bird registration for this important event closes next Monday 10 April!
