New Supervised Latching Solenoid Actuator with Pin State Monitoring for China Market

TLX Technologies introduced our newest supervised latching solenoid actuator at the China Fire show last month in Beijing, China. New features have been added to this component to address specific needs in the China fire suppression market.

One such feature includes the integration of pin position monitoring of the actuator’s fired or unfired state, satisfying a condition of the gaseous fire suppression market in China. This new component meets required UL and NFPA wiring codes and standards and includes our internal supervisory mechanism that ensures the actuator is properly installed on the discharge valve of the extinguishing agent storage container. Integration of the supervision mechanism eliminates the need for any additional components, connections and wire paths; resulting in a streamlined, NFPA compliant solution.

The new supervised actuator with pin state monitoring comes standard with eight wires; two for activation, two for pin state monitoring and four wires for supervision of both the actuator placement and connection to the fire panel. Factory installed wiring fed through an integrated conduit port in the housing meets the newest UL and NFPA code requirements for gaseous fire suppression actuators.

Rugged construction, ultra-fast response and the ability to be reset ensures reliable and outstanding performance over the actuator’s entire life span. Interface options can be customized based on suppression system requirements. TLX’s complete family of fire suppression components meets the requirements of NFPA 2001 (Sec. 4.3.4.1), UL 864, UL 2166, UL 2127 and FM 5600.

For 18 years, TLX Technologies has worked with manufacturers to develop and manufacture custom actuators and valves to meet the challenging demands of active fire suppression systems.
