The ACT Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is the ACT Government organisation charged with providing emergency management services to the Canberra community.
The ESA comprises of ACT Ambulance Service, ACT Fire & Rescue, ACT Rural Fire Service, ACT State Emergency Service and ESA Support Services. Together we are one team of many players with a single vision of being “the trusted agency for emergency management in the ACT.
ACT Fire & Rescue is a diverse organisation with legislated responsibility in a variety of areas related to fire and rescue, including fire suppression, rescue capabilities, and community safety activities.
ACT Rural Fire Service (ACTRFS) is responsible for protecting life, property and the environment from bush and grass fires that occur within rural or non-suburban areas of the ACT. ACTRFS has both volunteer brigades and a brigade of TAMS employees who work together responding to bush and grass fires, and conducting hazard reduction burning.
The ACT State Emergency Service (SES) is a volunteer emergency service organisation which gives immediate assistance to the community during emergencies and disasters. ACTSES volunteers provide community response to flood and storm 24 Hours a day, seven days a week.
