The program for AFAC21 powered by INTERSCHUTZ has been announced. Making up for the postponement of the event in 2020, AFAC21 will feature an impressive line-up of keynote speakers, supported by a program discussing the latest in research and practice across the sector.
The multi-streamed program includes the Institution of Fire Engineers National Conference and the Australian Disaster Resilience Conference, offering delegates the opportunity to expand their knowledge and networks.
Keynote speakers include Australian of the Year, Grace Tame; Dominique Hogan-Doran, Counsel Assisting the Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements; ABC’s International Affairs Analyst, Stan Grant; and Commissioner of Resilience NSW, Shane Fitzsimmons.
Over four days (17–20 August 2021) more than 90 presenters will respond to the theme Balancing impact and expectations. Presentations will cover an array of topics such as prescribed burning, risk, environment, community engagement, safety, predictive modelling, mental health and wellbeing and many more.
The AFAC21 exhibition is on track to become the largest and most comprehensive to date. Keen to put the turbulent pandemic environment behind them, over 170 exhibiting companies to date have signed up to showcase the latest technology available in fire, emergency and rescue, first responders, public safety, defence, hazardous, industrial, mining. This year, the exhibition will also include the fire safety, prevention and protection sector.
Expect to see the latest in fire appliance vehicles from leading brands including Scania, Rosenbauer, Volvo, Isuzu, Iveco, Hino and Fraser Fire and Rescue. The exhibition is not just limited to fire vehicle displays, with Volkswagen showcasing a new vehicle for paramedics.
