Bristol Uniforms, the UK’s leading designer and manufacturer of firefighter PPE, is welcoming a new Contracts Manager to further strengthen its team.
Adele Harris joins Bristol from Tarmac, where she spent nine years in operations and sales management roles. She also has a sound understanding of the clothing design and manufacturing industry, with 11 years’ previous experience in sales roles at Alexandra Workwear.
In her new role, Adele will be based at the Western Service Centre in Bristol, providing operational support and managing deliveries for existing long-term managed services contracts, as well as implementing new contracts. Her appointment follows several recent tender successes for Bristol Uniforms, including a major new contract to supply clothing, equipment and managed
services for the new Collaborative Procurement Framework, which is open to all Fire and Rescue Services (FRS) across the UK.

Bristol Uniforms is the only PPE manufacturer offering in-house managed services across the UK, operating out of two Service Centres in Staple Hill in Bristol, and Rainham in London. Bristol’s delivery drivers collect soiled or damaged garments from FRSs around the country in a fleet of liveried vans and transport them to one of the two Service Centres. Here they are thoroughly
cleaned, inspected and repaired, and returned to the customer within a guaranteed seven days. Unique barcodes on each item provide Bristol with a thorough record of its life-journey from the date of manufacture, the specific rolls of fabric that were used to create it, and each wash and repair. The Service Centres are also equipped to treat contaminated PPE, which has been exposed to toxic or hazardous materials and needs to be cleaned in a specially controlled environment.
