Bronto Skylift Aust./NZ are proud to be major suppliers of HEPs to the Australia and New Zealand Fire Services.
Bronto Skylift Aust./NZ is an International Sales/Marketing/Training and Technical Support office for Bronto Skylift Oy Ab (Finland) with an association dating back to 1992. Since then, we have supplied more than 100 Bronto’s to the Fire Services in Australia and New Zealand ranging from 17m through to 45m.
We are now supplying our new range of F28ALR and F45XR to a growing number of Brigades.
Recent additions are F28ALR’s to Fire Rescue Victoria as Primary Response appliances to major regional towns and F45XR’s to Northern Territory Fire & Rescue and SA Metropolitan Fire Service. Fire Rescue New South Wales have also taken delivery of F45XRs through the local Bronto Skylift distributor Alexander Perrie. All latest deliveries feature the Bronto 5+ control system, 360 degree rotation, longer jacks for enhanced levelling capability and world leading stability at height.
The new 5+ control system also brings additional functionality when combined with the Bronto Wireless Remote Control. Utilising an onboard Wireless Network paired to a Samsung Active Tablet the operator now has a mobile control station from anywhere within range. The option of a HD and Thermal imaging camera system is available. This can be streamed direct to the operating tablet of the wireless remote control, or, via 4G to a command vehicle. The unit can be operated via the wireless remote up to 100m away, with full control of the Bronto, monitor and camera system keeping the operator out of hazardous environments.
All new units also come with the updated 4 Jack Simultaneous levelling system, which lifts the unit with all outriggers at the same time, reducing the time required for safe effective levelling. Coupled with ground pressure measurement on the XR, the new XR range have never been safer. All units have Operator Protection in mind and include collision proximity sensors under the cage and/or in front of the cage. An automatic ‘Water Curtain’ can activate when the temperature under the cage exceeds a pre-set level, ensuring the operator in the cage is always in a safe environment.
‘Day-to-day communication with our design, engineering, production, and product development teams at Bronto Skylift Finland HQ enables us to offer the Fire Services unique abilities to support the Bronto product in our part of the world. An expanded network of qualified service providers nationwide along with the technical expertise of our resident Technical and Training Manager enables the best possible support to keep the units on the road 24/7. Regular communication with the client and our Technical Team in Australia and Finland helps to ensure the needs of the client are addressed quickly and to local requirements,’ says Trevor Wing.
The unit featured in this article is the F28ALR, which has been adapted for Australasian use on a Scania P450 6×4 crew cab chassis while other versions have been supplied to Fire Services in Canada, Britain and China on 4×2 chassis. The P450 Crew Cab was chosen to allow for a crew of five and weight to provide storage for a vast range of rescue tools and fire fighting equipment. 75m x 25mm hose reels mounted on each side provide quick access for an initial attack in most situations. The unit carries 1,200L of water and 200L of foam.
The Australasian version features a 400kg rated full-size cage, 3,500lpm monitor output at full height, 21m outreach, full automated narrow and full jacking, and a wireless remote control station with screen.
