Cobra 3 from Amdac Carmichael

Amdac Carmichael Limited (UK) chose the prestigious Interschutz 2015 international trade fair in Hannover, Germany to launch the first new British built airport crash tender design in 17 years: the Cobra 3. The prototype Cobra 3 sits on a new purpose built low profile Carmichael airport crash tender chassis using a Volvo Penta Euro 5 diesel engine, Twin Disc automatic transmission and Axletech axles.

On top is this stunning and aerodynamic crew safety cab approved to UNECE R29 standard. The cab boasts large hinged crew cab doors with pneumatically operated steps, a flat floor, sliding hatch access to the top deck and seating for a driver and up to 5 crew members.

The British built top-hamper is manufactured in polypropylene with GRP profiles. This prototype features integral tanks carrying 12,000 litres of water, 1700 litres of foam plus 250 kg of DCP courtesy of Perren Engineering Limited. The Cobra 3 also boasts easy engine access. The vehicle has a GVW of 36,000 kg, acceleration of 0-80 kph in 30 seconds and a top speed of 115 kph.

Another first for Carmichael at Interschutz 2015 was the launch of this optional Jet Ranger High Reach Extendable Turret (HRET) with a working height of 15.24 metres, reach of 11.40 metres and a monitor capable of delivering 6,000 litres per minute in the stowed position and 3,785 litres per minute when deployed.
