Emergency Media and Public Affairs (EMPA) conference commenced today in Sydney. This is Asia’s leading forum for emergency and disaster communications people.
An important part of an emergency services is its public/media affairs department, for a number of reasons; managing the day to day media on issues that impact on the agency and more importantly managing the information flow into and from the community during a disaster.
The delegates take part in workshop scenarios, listen to experts from around the world and question those involved in real-life case studies. This two day conference will also allow these important people to network and talk about shared experiences.
