Last year Holmatro introduced a full range of Inclined Cutters, all equipped with a 30-degree angled jaw. These cutters significantly improve ergonomics and provide you with plenty of extra working space when cutting wider car pillars from the side. Although the idea is simple, we have noticed during the many Rescue Experience events we organise around the world that not everyone gets the point immediately. However, after a short explanation by our instructors, there’s not a single rescuer left who
doesn’t embrace the concept of Inclined Cutting.
More ergonomics
One of our instructors always starts with the same scene: he clamps a straight blade cutter and a cutter with inclined blades in the roof rail of a car, both at the same ideal 90-degree cutting angle. He lets the image speak for itself: Which cutter would you rather use in this position? A cutter which you would need to lift above your shoulders or a cutter you can operate quite comfortably at waist height?
More working space
When you need to make a relief cut in the lower A pillar of a car, or when you want to cut a very wide B pillar from the side, this is not an easy job with a regular straight blade cutter. It turns towards your patient, it can get stuck in the door frame and you need to reposition your tool several times to complete the cut. Holmatro’s Inclined Cutter, however, leaves more than enough room between your tool and the car. This means you can make that cut much quicker, easier and safer. And with a carrying handle that goes all around the tool, you can always use the Inclined Cutter in its beneficial position, at both sides of the car.
