As we celebrate the end of GESA’s first full year of operations, we look forward to what 2022 will bring for our organization.
In 2021, we established our Global South Advisory Council (AC) – a body of practitioner experts from around the world that helps the GESA community understand the needs, processes and best ways to serve underserved markets from Africa to Asia to Latin America and beyond. This year, we are building more visibility among the international practitioner community, expanding the size of our AC to cover new regions and sharing our message and findings with regional practitioner networks.
GESA is also planning to expand our reach in other ways during 2022. We plan to grow our core membership by bringing more manufacturers, consultants and other industry leaders on board. Additionally, GESA will increase our presence in the sector by sharing our message more widely on social media, in articles, through multinational institutions, on our website – and, of course, with MDM!
Lastly, in 2022 GESA will be designing and launching our flagship project – the GESA Equipment Exchange – a simple platform to link used, recycled and new equipment (as well as training, spare parts and project support) with departments around the world. Inspiration for the project came from conversations with our AC, our consultant and manufacturer members, and surveys of practitioners worldwide who want to create a more sustainable system for reusable and recyclable equipment. Stay tuned for more on this throughout the year!
