For over 100 years Panasonic has been at the forefront of innovation, designing and manufacturing specialist technology for industries across the globe. There’s no better example of this than the range of TOUGHBOOK mobility solutions, regarded as the consistent market leader and most trusted brand within the Emergency Services sector for rugged laptops and tablets for over 25 years.
Smarter, faster and more reliable emergency response
To save lives, EMS teams need access to real-time information, safe work conditions and efficient coordination with other first-responder agencies. Panasonic TOUGHBOOK provide EMS specialists with rugged and user-friendly solutions that provide timely access to information and communication in the field to effectively manage any emergency situation.
The ability to use mobile solutions en route to access building schematics and plans can shave valuable time off understanding, planning and managing incidents. At the incident scene, commanders can connect to other emergency and community resources and can also stream live video and monitor firefighter safety with real-time information from body-worn equipment. While at a victim’s side, firefighters can access electronic patient records and could also have the ability to videoconference with emergency-room doctors to help start life-saving treatment sooner for better outcomes.
Made for the heart of the action
Out on the front line, work is challenging enough without worrying whether your mobile IT is up to the task. Panasonic TOUGHBOOK PCs and tablets are eight times more reliable than average industry notebooks without rugged features.
Working side-by-side with our software partners, we have created a range of products and solutions specifically for the emergency services sector that are easy to integrate with existing systems and are reliable day in and day out.
Our devices and solutions are designed to empower and enable entire teams across the Emergency Services industry to be fully digitally connected to improve efficiencies, productivity and user experience.
Innovative modular and multipurpose design
Panasonic has pioneered the latest generation of TOUGHBOOK devices, including the TOUGHBOOK G2, incorporating a groundbreaking modular product design that has three expansion areas offering up to 36 different combinations to deliver the ultimate customised fit for purpose device.
The TOUGHBOOK G2 is ergonomically designed and lightweight (1.19kg) and has a rich set of carrying options to maintain device mobility. The G2 also includes glove-activated touchscreen capabilities, making removing one’s gloves in extreme conditions a problem of the past.
The device is flexible for the varying needs of mobile workers and can be optionally equipped using its configurable gadget ports which include serial, LAN, USB 2.0 or Thermal by FLIR. It is also backwards compatible with most TOUGHBOOK G1 and TOUGHBOOK 20 docks, allowing seamless integration to existing desktop or vehicle installations.
The ‘gold standard’ in security and reliability
Partnering with Microsoft, the TOUGHBOOK G2 introduces a Secured-core PC. This Windows device comes with the highest level of hardware, software and identity protection. An Intel vPro processor and self-healing endpoint security firmware from Absolute further maintains an unbreakable connection on or off a network, mitigating against the risk of data compromise, or if devices are lost damaged or stolen.
The TOUGHBOOK G2 can also withstand the harshest environments, being resistant to water, dust, dirt, temperature fluctuations and the extreme elements that firefighters experience on a daily basis.
Always on connectivity and communications
Uninterrupted connectivity is critical to saving lives, especially in rural and regional areas with exceptionally low cell tower density. By utilising larger and more powerful antennas, typically mounted on a fire truck’s exterior, Panasonic TOUGHBOOK dual pass-through functionality ensures stronger wireless connectivity. Coupled with GPS Antenna Pass-Through, the device will always stay connected to the network systems for uninterrupted data exchange.
Panasonic TOUGHBOOK undergoes rigorous docking solution testing to ensure it complies with Australian Design Rules (ADR). In fact, our docking solutions are often future-proofed so that even when devices are upgraded to a new model, the new device will fit the existing dock installed in the vehicle.
