Just because a firefighting garment is made with the latest high performance fabrics, doesn’t guarantee that it will provide the best possible protection for the wearer. Beyond the textile components, the keys to creating the optimum performance in protective gear are ergonomic design, a detailed understanding of operational context and a quality manufacturing process.
TEXPORT® only uses the highest quality fabrics available in the market to meet our customer’s operational needs. As well as our own proprietary fabrics compound such as X-TREME® and outershell fabric IB-Tex®, customers have a choice of garments which incorporate GORE-TEX Moisture Barriers® and high performance outershells such as PBI® and Nomex® fabrics.
Using the latest textile technology ensures that all TEXPORT® garments achieve high levels of comfort and breathability while at the same time maintaining high thermal protection for the wearers.
Garment design and ergonomics play a vital role in firefighter protection, as well as reducing common injuries. The application of physiological principles to the design our products reduces biomechanical heat stress and allows firefighter to focus for longer on the task at hand.
Our latest generation of protective firefighter gear includes the Fire Breaker Action Nova and Fire Survivor structural firefighting solutions, incorporating a wide range of garment construction with different fabric options. This allows fire services to choose the most appropriate configuration to best meet their own specific operational needs.
TEXPORT® specialists take time to research data on common injuries, working closely with frontline firefighters to gain a deep understanding of the day to day operational risks and challenges. That knowledge informs our designers to create garments that will perform in the most extreme situations while also reducing the risk of other injuries that occur in routine work and training.
Ergonomics are at the core of every TEXPORT® garment, which is why our designs incorporate ground-breaking innovations that often set new standards in protection. These unique patented features reduce the risk of common injuries in areas such as the shoulders, wrists and joints. TEXPORT® Air Blocker® creates a permanent air cushion in the insulation system around the shoulders that increases protection from compression injuries when wearing a respirator. The Ergopad® is a cushioned ergonomically prefabricated pad that fits around the knee in any position and prevents pressure burns. Unlike aramid nonwovens, it resists excessive water absorption.
While designed to withstand the punishing firefighting environment, our garments also incorporate solutions that allow easy and efficient maintenance, prolonging their operational lifetime. Internal repair apertures offer easy access for maintenance and the unique HPX System® makes replacing a zip quick and easy rather than laborious and expensive. The TEXPORT® Triple Fabric® reflector strip is not only extremely breathable but is also less prone to scuffing from washing and day to day wear. When combined with the high quality of the garment, this type of innovation reduces the lifetime cost of PPE for customers.
Having invested heavily in research and development of high performance protective garment design, it’s vital that they are then manufactured to the highest quality. That is why the entire process, from design through to manufacture, is kept in house by TEXPORT®. Garments are manufactured in Texport’s own facilities, rather than by third parties, ensuring consistent quality control across the full range of products.
Texport’s commitment to quality, research and development has created market leading protective gear that is now being worn by firefighters across Europe, South America, China and the Far East. They choose TEXPORT® to protect their firefighters because our products consistently outperform the competition in ergonomic tests and high intensity wearer trials.
